International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is conducted by two certifying authorities, one is the British Council and the other is IDP, Australia. Both are acceptable. This test is primarily taken to certify nurses or any other professionals for whom English is not their native language.

IELTS tests the English speaking, writing, reading, and listening of foreign-trained nurses.

This examination is conducted throughout the year at various centers across the world. In India, there are 30 centers and the examinations are conducted thrice a month at each of these centers.
